“Mandatory Labelling of Palm Oil” NOW..

Why This Is Important

Palm oil production is the single biggest threat to South East Asian rainforests.
Palm oil is found in over 40% of the food products on our shelves.
Palm oil isn’t even labeled in Australia. The average Australian consumes 10kg of Palm Oil every year.
Once palm oil is labelled, consumers can actually drive a market for proper certified sustainable palm oil because they can demand it of manufacturers.

Stop U.S. Malls From Selling Exotic Animals

Sugar gliders are native to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. They live communally in groups of thirty or more and enjoy gliding, playing and searching for food. Yet they are regularly sold to families in U.S. malls.

Tell U.S. malls to leave sugar gliders alone! »

Because of the kiosks’ locations in malls and the species’ cute appearance, shoppers purchase the animals on impulse like toys, oblivious to their special, long-term needs.

Sugar gliders’ natural diet consists of native insects, wattle gum and eucalyptus sap, which U.S. shoppers rarely have access to. Most U.S. vets also have no resources to provide sugar gliders with health.

Sugar gliders deserve to live in their native habitat, where they can glide, play with their family members and search for food. Shoppers do not need these pets and typically grow bored with them shortly after purchase.

Please sign the petition to convince U.S. Congress to outlaw the sale of sugar gliders at malls. »

Western black rhino declared extinct

Africa’s western black rhino is now officially extinct according the latest review of animals and plants by the world’s largest conservation network.

The subspecies of the black rhino — which is classified as “critically endangered” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species — was last seen in western Africa in 2006.

The IUCN warns that other rhinos could follow saying Africa’s northern white rhino is “teetering on the brink of extinction” while Asia’s Javan rhino is “making its last stand” due to continued poaching and lack of conservation.

‘Lack of conservation’ includes ‘lack of habitat’ due to thousands of hectares every day being replaced with Palm Oil Plantations for you and me, and by eating foods that use palm oil as an ingredient, Western consumers are directly fueling the destruction of orangutan habitat and sensitive ecosystems.

If the current rate of habitat decline continues, the Sumatran orangutan may become the first of the great apes living today to go extinct in the wild. A new UNEP/GRASP report warns that local populations in parts of Sumatra could disappear as early as 2015.

Educate yourself NOW and do your best to STOP your direct funding of this habitat destruction and extinction of the Orangutans, Asian Rhino, Asian Elephant & Asian Tiger…

BAN LIVE EXPORT

It’s a sad day for animals. Bills to end Australia’s cruelest trade were defeated, but evidence condemning live exports continues to mount. Please join Kangaboy to show our Government, for the sake of millions of animals, that this is simply not acceptable. Big THANKS to Animals Australia for making our voices heard for the voiceless & defenseless.

Evidence condemning the live export trade continues to mount as Animals Australia releases footage from a recent live export investigation in Turkey.

URGENT! Turtle Torture Event Scheduled!

Warning: Disturbing footage.
Stop this event by calling and/or writing today! Email addresses & phone numbers below.

Ohio County, Indiana, is home to an extraordinarily cruel event called “Snapperfest”—next scheduled for this Saturday, August 20! Every year at the Campshore Campground, wild-caught snapping turtles endure terrible violence at the hands of participants. The frightened animals are grabbed by their tails and repeatedly slammed to the ground. Their heads are yanked from their shells, and they are then swung around until “contestants” are able to wrap their fists around the animals’ necks.

STOP THIS EVENT!

PETA, without success, appealed to the compassion of the Ohio County commissioners. Now it’s your turn. Please contact the commissioners and the campground and politely ask that they do the right thing and replace this cruel event. And please spread this alert far and wide.

Please send polite comments to:

Japan’s Deceptive Whale Slaughter Finally Ending?

The value of lethal whale “research” is being questioned openly in Japan, as the government weighs up whether to return to the Antarctic.

A member of a review panel set up to advise the government, Hisa Anan, has called for a halt to the controversial hunt.

“Research whaling has been conducted for more than 20 years now,” Ms Anan told the ABC in Tokyo.

“I think they’ve gathered enough scientific data and, even if they want more, they can conduct non-lethal research.”

She said she did not believe Sea Shepherd activists would stop activities that exposed the whaling fleet crews to danger, and Japan should end the program.

A review of the loss-making program was sparked by last summer’s disastrous season, when the whaling fleet was forced out of the Southern Ocean by Sea Shepherd harassment.

Ms Anan’s minority view came in a report that also raised concerns over financial problems of the hunt.

The committee’s majority want to continue, but face the prospect of sending the whalers south against a strengthened Sea Shepherd fleet.

The group’s leader, Paul Watson, told Fairfax online all three of the group’s ships would be positioned in Sydney and Fremantle ready to return in October.

“We are also looking for a fourth ship,” Mr Watson said. “If they return we will be ready to engage them again.”

Sea Shepherd’s flagship Steve Irwin has been freed from arrest in the Shetland Islands, where it was held before a £520,000 ($818,000) bond was posted over a dispute arising from the group’s campaign against Mediterranean bluefin tuna fishing.

Stop the Whale Slaughter in Faroe Islands

*Please Note: Upon sourcing further video documentaries than the ones I had watched and the endless amount of news articles by media and conservationists across the internet in order to share the facts surrounding this subject, I have found the need to edit and remove much of the original information I had uncovered, including titles and headlines due to what might be false allegations or dramatization by media.

I would also like to share this link with you to a well made and non-sided video documentary filmed in the Faroe Islands, enabling us to discover the life of the Faroese community, and decide for ourselves to agree or disagree with the want of the Faroese people to continue their bloody tradition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oou3N5ylvdI

A message to any other people from Denmark and the Faroe Islands who want to verbally attack and try to insult me on some personal level, may I inform you that I do my best to source my blog information from many websites and news articles, and it’s not information I have made up or based on my own assumptions, so please direct your fury and arguments to the  people responsible for writing the articles in future.

Here are just a few of the source links of my original information for your convenience. Thank you.

And there are many more!
What does it tell you when there are literally thousands of website links and articles with thousands and thousands of peoples opinions from around the world all expressing their disgust and want for this slaughter to stop, yet not one site to be found that represents this slaughter as good, right, or even allowed? Unless I haven’t found it yet! But just an observation.

Kangaboy’s view, in case your interested, is to help STOP this slaughter, hence the blog title. That’s because Kangaboy Universal Clothing stands for helping to Save Wildlife & Habitats, the conservation of what’s left, as much re-creation as we can of what has gone, and to help STOP animal cruelty as a whole.

Kangaboy Universal Clothing believe animals and habitats deserve rights, especially over ancient traditions, and that the people who love and respect them need to be their voice.

We have known for a long time now that whales are sensitive, social animals with highly developed nervous systems, and have a profound capacity to suffer distress, terror and pain. Each year, the Faroese kill 100′s, sometimes 1000′s of pilot whales and other small cetaceans.

If you’ve watched the Faroe Islands doco,  signing the petitions to STOP the whale slaughter in the Faroe Islands is your decision:

PETA – PETITION
DENMARK PETITION

Aside from the fact that the number of North Atlantic long-finned pilot whales is unknown and they are listed as ‘strictly protected’ by the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats, this is an act of barbarism and pointlessness. By slaughtering 100 whales at a time, the Faroese are wiping out entire pods and family groups. They are removing building blocks from the gene pool of the species and damaging the web of life in the North Atlantic and the North Sea.

The drive hunt is a practice abandoned elsewhere many decades ago, and now outlawed by other European states. The inhabitants of the Faroe Islands have no subsistence need for whale meat, and much of the flesh is left to rot and be dumped; it cannot be exported, as it is polluted with heavy metals and other toxins and therefore cannot meet EU heath standards for human food.

According to ‘Faroese legislation’ it is also permitted to hunt certain species of small cetaceans other than pilot whales. These include: Bottlenose dolphin; Atlantic white-beaked dolphin; Atlantic white-sided dolphin; and Harbour porpoise (There are also specific regulations for the hunting of harbour porpoise. Harbour porpoises are killed with shotguns).

As said earlier, if you’ve watched this Faroe Islands doco,  signing the petitions to STOP the whale slaughter in the Faroe Islands is your decision:
