2011: Our Gutless, Deceptive Governments on Whaling
… In particular the Australian Government, still bowing to the lies and deception of the japanese government on whaling, still allowing the japanese government to illegally slaughter whales in Australian territorial waters, in the world recognized whale ‘sanctuary’, and now as revealed by wikileaks it’s absolutely clear that the Australian Government was saying one thing publicly and then another thing privately about whaling so as to allow the continued hunting and slaughter of whales.
All of the while this was being denied by the Government, the Australian Government has engaged in a deception of the Australian people. They were simply, flatly dishonest.
It’s totally unacceptable. It’s both bad as a Government to behave that way, it’s also terrible for diplomacy!
What about the WHALES?
I’m totally fed up with one deceptive, gutless Australian leader and government after the other, I’m not proud to be Australian because of my gutless and deceptive government that won’t respect it’s own public, that won’t respect diplomacy, and that wont stand up against this japanese tyrant government with its arrogant illegal slaughter of the magnificent whales. It really is pathetic!
I’m fed up also at the zero response of all other world governments, proving time and time again that whales don’t matter to them, that japans illegal slaughtering of protected wildlife doesn’t matter to them, that japans blatant lies and ignorance against the requests of the international community does not matter to them.
It’s entirely up to each and every individual to stand up and be the voice to SAVE the WHALES – and BOYCOTT JAPAN PRODUCTS & BUSINESS

Boycott Launched to Save Bluefin Tuna: Sign the Pledge
Bluefin tuna — one of the oceans’ most remarkable species — continues to be pushed toward extinction, yet international fishing regulators have refused to do anything about it. That’s why on Tuesday the Center for Biological Diversity launched a national boycott of bluefin tuna, which is still a staple in many sushi restaurants. The ‘Endangered Earth’ Group is calling on chefs, restaurateurs and consumers like you not to buy bluefin tuna or spend money at restaurants that serve it. This warm-blooded fish can grow up to 10 feet long, swim at 50 miles per hour and cross the entire Atlantic ocean in just 60 days. Because of overfishing, it’s declined by more than 80 percent since 1970. It took another hit earlier this year when the Gulf of Mexico oil spill polluted its only spawning grounds, decimating an estimated 20 percent of all juvenile bluefin. The Center petitioned for Endangered Species Act protection for Atlantic bluefin in May. But just last week, international regulators approved new fishing quotas that don’t do anything to help this magnificent fish.
“The urgent plight of bluefin tuna has been well known for years and, while some restaurants have rightly removed it from their menus, others continue to serve it,” said the Center’s Catherine Kilduff. “That has to stop if we’re going to keep this fish from slipping into oblivion.”
Already, more than 15,000 people have signed the ‘Endangered Earth’ pledge to stop eating bluefin tuna sushi or going to restaurants that serve it. You should be next, and then share this campaign with your friends, family and on Facebook. Bluefin are counting on you.

KOALA EXTINCTION – Did You Help?

Constant habitat destruction and regular local extinctions are the sad evidence of the failure of the Government to protect Australia’s national icon.
Legislation from the Australian Government is the only way to protect the koala, and afford protection to over 400 threatened species that share koala habitat.
With over 25 000 dead koalas found in Southeast Queensland alone since the Strategy’s inception in 1998, it is imperative the Australian Government starts owning up to its responsibility as the koala’s custodian by legislating effective habitat protection.
Federal Government legislation is the only way to genuinely protect koalas and habitat.

1/ The Australian Koala Foundation has nominated Australia’s national koala population as ‘Vulnerable to Extinction’ under Federal legislation. The decision is currently being deliberated by the Threatened Species Steering Committee. This is one of the most important decisions in the history of the koala because this listing will mean recognition by the Federal Government of the demise of Australia’s national icon and greater protection for the species’ survival. The future of the koala is in the Government’s hands.
