CHINA: Cruel Disregard for Animal Rights

99% OF PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW THESE FACTS!

More than 2,000,000 cats, dogs and other animals are brutally and sadistically skinned alive every year in China for their fur and left to die slowly in shock and excruciating pain.

Probably the worst case of mass cruelty inflicted on helpless animals in the history of our so called “civilised” world. 2,000,000 cats and dogs skinned alive every year translates to 5,479 per day or 228 helpless animals suffering this unimaginable horror every hour of every day of every year – year after year.

The callous indifference shown by the Chinese government towards the suffering of the animals is inconceivable and completely unacceptable..

Cats and dogs have no animal rights in China and they never will unless we – the people who care – fight for those rights on their behalf.

KANGABOY is commited to helping Animal Saviors. Animal Saviors Awareness Campaign is dedicated to stop the more than 2,000,000 cats, dogs and other animals being brutally and callously skinned alive in China every year.

The animals are caged in cramped conditions, often fed on starvation rations or on the skinned carcasses of other cats and dogs.

WE KNOW ITS HARD TO READ ON.. BUT TURNING A BLIND EYE TO SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOUR HEART ACHE AND DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT MAKES US WHAT COULD BE TERMED ‘COMPASSIONATELY IGNORANT’. However, it is found that those people who know the facts are those who most want to help the animals. Guess you can’t get passionate about a Cause unless you know the facts. It takes a minute or two to read. (more…)

JAPAN: Illegal Whale Poachers – sign petition..

The japanese government continues to ignore ‘International Law’ and re-news its arrogant & greedy ‘Illegal Whale Poaching’ in the International Whale Sanctuary and International waters every year.

A young  japanese woman eats whale burgers in japan.

Petitions of millions of signatures from people all over the world apposing their blatant ignorance to international law has achieved absolutely nothing for over 30 years.

It is for this reason that we believe the only course of action left for the International community to take is the BOYCOTT of japanese business and products within our own towns and cities, because japan has shown us that their greed and money is more important to them than the right to life of the endangered majestic great whales – and when your financial support of japan and its illegal whale poaching stops long enough, only then will this country begin to rethink its ignorance towards the rest of the international community, and only then do we have a chance for their whale slaughter to finally end.

Kangaboy Clothing is designed to help spread awareness of cruel ‘facts’ in the hope more people will choose to be more consciously aware and choose to help make a positive difference for our animal friends.

Kangaboy Sales Proceeds support organisations like The Sea Shephard Conservation Society who each year confront the japanese whaling fleet in Antarcticas Precious International Whale Sanctuary where they battle to disrupt and stop japans Illegal Whale Poaching slaughters. (more…)

INTERNATIONAL: Navy Military Sonar 'Killing Whales & Dolphins'

As Mass Strandings Of Whales Increase Around The World,
New Evidence Shows Naval Equipment May Be To Blame

beached-whales-dolphins-australia-2009

Rescuers were trying on Monday to save dozens of pilot whales after almost 200 beached themselves on an island near Australia’s southern state of Tasmania, with many already dead.

In Bass Strait between Australia’s mainland and Tasmania state mass beachings of whales occured in January 2009, then again together with dolphins in the same area on March 1st 2009, and ‘again’ on a southern beach in Western Australia on March 27 2009.

Three mass beachings in as many months – for ‘fact’ sake! - doesnt that… (more…)

AUSTRALIA: Rudd's Pathetic Contribution To Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction…

Australia’s Rudd Government announces a 5 – 15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2020. These targets fly in the face of calls from scientists for countries to slash their emissions by 25% to 40% to avert catastrophic climate change.

… and here we are December 2009, Australia alone has just recorded its hottest 6 months in history, and earlier this year heatwaves with record temperatures exceeding 48 degrees celcius (118 farenheit) followed with Massive bushfires burning out of control becoming hell on earth resulting in Australia’s worst natural disaster in history. The devastating bushfires  killed atleast 201 people, displaced more than 7000 people and destroyed atleast 1000 homes. Entire country towns completely destroyed. The enormous suffering and death of wildlife is 1000′s, plus the thousands of livestock & pets that suffered or died.

Leading up to the bushfire disaster Koalas were taking refuge in the shade of house patios and obligingly accepting water. It’s rare that a Koala needs to ‘drink’ water let alone take a splash in it!! But here’s proof – Now we know this is extra cute.. but the fact is this odd wildlife behaviour is more signs these extreme record temperatures are more global warming WARNING! …

This injured koala now named Sam came to people looking for help. The filmed interaction between her and this CFA volunteer was something never seen before. This poor koala was burnt, exhausted and desperate, and she was only one of 100′s of wildlife taken into RSPCA rescue officers in the bushfire disaster zone.

The Koala’s were also front page in Albury-Wodonga. They are sitting in the dams (whats left of them) to stay cool! And in Adelaide the Koalas are coming to us for water too…thirsty_koala02

Tackling global climate change by cutting greenhouse gas emissions will cost 1.6% of the global GDP, according to a recently published UN Development Program report. The report tilted ‘The Struggle Against Climate Change’ urged richer countries to cut their greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% by 2050, with the target for 2020 being 30% reduction of total greenhouse gas emissions.melting-glaciers_7548

The cruelest fact about climate change is that the poor countries that are less responsible for greenhouse gas emissions are the ones that will bear the brunt of global climate change. A rise in three degrees Celsius in global temperature will bring drought, tropical storms and rise in sea level that will hit the economies of developing countries the hardest. In poor countries, there will be deterioration in agricultural production, decline in health and education services and less access to market.contribution_to_greenhouse

Between now and 2030 the average annual cost of combating global climate change will cost about 1.6% of global GDP. This is not an insignificant investment, according to the report. It is less than two-thirds of global military spending. The cost of inaction will be detrimental in the long run.

CANADA: ONE MILLION Plus SEAL PUP SLAUGHTER

MARCH 23, 2009 - Canada’s 2009 Commercial Seal Slaughter Opened and the World Watched as 280,000 Baby Seals were Set to Die. The following pictures of slaughter are current 2009…

seal_pup01

Canada’s commercial seal slaughter is the largest slaughter of marine mammals in the world. Sealers were allowed to kill 280,000 harp seal pups this year, provided they have begun to molt their white coats, which occurs when the animals are about two weeks old.

canadas-shame2009-01

“It’s preposterous that the Canadian government insists on moving forward with this hunt.” said Sheryl Fink, a senior researcher with IFAW. “In the midst of intense European and Canadian opposition, dwindling markets and low pelt prices, it’s apparent the government’s insistence on continuing this slaughter is based solely on politics not reason.”

The cruelty of Canada’s commercial seal slaughter is undeniable. Canada has allowed over one million seals to be killed in the past four years. According to Canadian government scientists, this year’s quota for 280,000 seals did not even respect the current seal hunt management plan.canadas-shame2009-02canadas-shame2009-04

AUSTRALIA: Brave Beau dies from the Arrow Cruelty Attack

Beau, the young Eastern Grey Kangaroo who had an arrow fired through his head last month in an horrific act of cruelty that shocked the world, died yesterday as a result of his injuries at the Chum Creek Wildlife Shelter.

Beau-and-Hope

His female companion Hope, who had an arrow fired into the base of her tail and was rescued two days before Beau, stood by him in death. Healesville Sanctuary will conduct a post mortem of Beau over the next few days.

Beau’s carer Belinda Gales, of the Chum Creek Wildlife Shelter said “he was such a sweet kangaroo, we are absolutely devastated, poor Hope was standing next to him and has been quiet and depressed since. Kangaroos really show their grief when they lose one of their own, it’s heartbreaking, his death could now slow her recovery”.

Wildlife Victoria’s Executive Officer Sandy Fernee said, “These shocking displays of cruelty have horrified both animal welfare groups and the public alike calling for tougher penalties for animal cruelty and wildlife offences. It also makes communities feel unsafe to have these acts of cruelty on their door step. We urge anyone who knows of persons committing cruelty to wildlife to please report it to the police.

Sales proceeds from our ‘Kangaluv’ tee’s & singlets help the RSPCA and other animal rescue organisations..
